What the “social” allowance means

Most Sawa tiers split data in two: a general bucket for everything, and a dedicated social bucket for WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube. Heavy chat-and-scroll users get more usable value than the headline number suggests — though video-first apps like YouTube and TikTok burn the social bucket fastest.

Which Sawa plan fits you?

• Light user / second SIM: Sawa Basic covers calls and messaging with a little data.
• Everyday resident: Sawa Like Plus (15GB + 15GB social) is the value sweet spot for most people.
• Heavy streamer / hotspot user: Flex 100 or Star Plus for large data and unlimited social.

STC sells dedicated Sawa Visitor SIMs with tourist-sized data and fixed validity, available at the airport on arrival and at STC stores near the holy sites in Makkah and Madinah; bring your passport and visa for registration. For a stay of a week or two, a visitor pack usually costs less than a monthly Sawa tier and is pre-configured for use across the Kingdom, including 5G coverage around the Haramain. An eSIM version can be activated before you fly through the MySTC app.
